IGNOU OPENMAT Result is the parameter of performance which tells about how well a candidate has performed in the examination. Marking scheme in the examination is defined for a total of 200 questions which would be multiple choice objective based. For each question, there shall be 4 options out of which 1 would be correct. A candidate would fetch marks for correct option only. No marks would be cut for any question which is not attempted or wrongly attempted.
 

Higher the score better is the chance of final selection in the merit list for admission on available seats. Since there are a limited number of seats for admission and number of candidates is high, it is imperative to apply a selection parameter called as cutoff. Some factors which are considered by the exam governing body to decide the cutoff are – number of candidates, number of available seats, reservation norms, and exam difficulty level. A rank list would be generated that would contain names of the candidates in the decreasing order of marks achieved.
