Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was established in 1998 as per the Act of the Legislature of the Punjab state. The University was set by the Punjab Government in the memory of renowned Sufi Saint Baba Farid. There are 06 faculties in Nursing Sciences, Dental Sciences, Medical Sciences, Ayurveda, Physiotherapy and Homeopathy. Currently, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences has almost 136 affiliated colleges to it. BFUHS is also a member of the SAARC Universities, the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi and the Association of Commonwealth Universities, London.
